LANSING — Governor Gretchen Whitmer has declared this week, August 17 through 23, as Charitable Nonprofit Week in Michigan.
The week is meant to celebrate nonprofits and the work they do for families and communities.
Michigan Community Action Executive Director Brian McGrain said 22 of the state’s 27 Community Action Agencies help people every day by giving them a hand up when they need it most.
The Michigan Nonprofit Association is also encouraging groups to share their stories to show how nonprofits make a difference.
Charitable Nonprofit Week runs through Saturday.
