ADRIAN — The Lenawee Historical Society will celebrate a big milestone next month.

On Saturday, September 27th, the museum will host a free program about a 10,000-mile bike ride taken in 1975 by two recent Adrian High School graduates, Matt Hermes and Matt Harpst.

The pair rode through 33 states and two Canadian provinces to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Their four-month trip raised the equivalent of about three thousand dollars today.

The anniversary program will feature photos and stories from their ride. It will be held at 2 p.m. in the Frazier Auditorium on the second floor of the Lenawee Historical Museum in downtown Adrian.

The museum opens at 10 a.m., and light refreshments will be served.
