ADRIAN — The Lenawee County Veterans Office says July was busy, even with fewer staff in the office.
Staff spent one week in a national training program to learn new ways to help veterans. The training was paid for by a grant, so it did not cost the county.
Workers still helped veterans during the month. They gave rides to VA medical centers, handled benefit claims, and processed pensions and other support requests. Staff also met with county budget leaders to plan for next year’s funding.
The office joined the Veterans Day event at the county fair, answering questions and meeting with former service members.
The next veterans meeting is planned for September 19.
