TECUMSEH — Two Downtown Tecumseh businesses have been awarded grants totaling $50,000 through the Michigan Economic Development Corporation’s Match on Main program.
The two businesses, Harvest Chocolate and Rosie’s Cafe, each received a grant of $25,000.
According to the MEDC’s website, MI Place dot org, the Match on Main program supports new or expanding place-based businesses in Redevelopment Ready Communities, like Tecumseh, as well as Michigan Main Street Districts.
At the Tecumseh City Council meeting on Monday, Mayor Bryan Radant thanked Economic Director Kelly Jo Gilmore for her assistance in the application process, noting the unique occurrence of having two businesses in one city both receive grants.
