Edward L. Johnson, age 91, of Adrian, MI, passed away, July 31, 2025, at Lenawee Medical Care Facility. He was born November 14, 1933, in Mount Hermon, KY, the son of Henry & Matilda (Ferguson) Johnson. On October 8, 1955, he married Audrey Burnside at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Lincoln Park, MI., she survives. Edward owned and operated his own Firestone Dealership and Auto Repair Facility known as Ed Johnson & Son in Adrian for many years. He was a longtime member of Christ Episcopal Church in Adrian, MI. Edward was an avid deer hunter and outdoorsman who loved to fish. He enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions. In addition to his wife Audrey Johnson, he is survived by his children, Todd (Debbie) Johnson, Tami (Ray) Green and Leslie (Donald) Carpenter; five grandchildren, Clay, Jessica, Shannon, Alison and Jace; seven great grandchildren; two brothers, Julius Johnson and Bobby (Sue) Johnson; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Thomas Johnson and David Johnson; and one sister, Lou Pearl Qualls. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, August 8, 2025, at Christ Episcopal Church, 720 Riverside Ave, Adrian, MI, with Fr. Dan Buchin presiding. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Adrian, MI. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 7, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N.
