
Mary Lou Rayburn, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by family. Born in Corbin, Kentucky, on February 2, 1949. Mary Lou brought warmth, grace, and unconditional love into every life she touched. She was the cherished daughter of Mascal and Herbert Jones, both of whom preceded her in death. Mary Lou was united in marriage to the late Ray Rayburn, Sr., with whom she built a beautiful life grounded in love, faith, and family. She is survived by her seven children, each a testament to her strength and devotion:
Ray (Sonia) Rayburn, Lisa Taylor, Bob (Candy) Jann, Bruce (Rhonda) Rayburn, Russ Jann, Trish (John) Lynch, and Donella (Jim) Grissom. Her beloved son-in-law, Tim Taylor, preceded her in death. A proud matriarch, Mary Lou leaves behind 22 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren who carry forward her joy, wisdom, and unwavering belief in the goodness of others. She also leaves behind three brothers, two sisters, and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Known by many as “Mamaw,” Mary Lou had a heart that was immeasurable in its kindness. Her home was always open, her smile always warm, and she was ready to help where needed. She will be missed tremendously and remembered daily. Her spirit lives on in the laughter of her children and grandchildren, the memories shared by her family, and the legacy of compassion she leaves behind. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 9th at 2:00 p.m. at the A. J. Smith Recreation Center, located at 810 N. Evans, Tecumseh, MI 49286.
