Use Variance Recommended for RV Storage on Evans Street

TECUMSEH — Tecumseh City staff have recommended a use variance for 311 South Evans Street to allow recreational vehicle storage on the site.

The property is currently zoned residential, but has been used as a contractor’s storage yard under a legal non-conforming use.

The new use would replace the contractor yard and allow RV storage with added fencing and landscaping for safety and appearance.

Officials say the location’s unique layout, including nearby railroad and road right-of-ways, makes residential development unlikely.

If approved, the variance will expire when the property is sold.

The Zoning Board of Appeals is set to vote on the request at its July 24 meeting.
