JACKSON — State Representative Kathy Schmaltz is applauding a new grant awarded to the Jackson Area Manufacturer’s Association (JAMA) to support adult education and workforce development.

JAMA received a $5,000 Reconnect Now Grant from the Michigan College Access Network. The funding will help raise awareness of the Michigan Reconnect program, which offers tuition-free community college for eligible adult learners.

Schmaltz, a Republican from Jackson, said the grant will expand access to education and help local businesses find skilled workers.

The Reconnect Now Grant program is supported through state funding and private partnerships.
