BLISSFIELD — The Schultz-Holmes District Library in Blissfield has received a rare framed photograph of Mark Twain, donated by California attorney and former Blissfield resident John Brown.
The print, titled “Mark Twain at Work,” shows the author writing in bed and comes from a 1906 photo session Twain himself arranged.
The image originates from the Keystone-Mast Collection, housed at the University of California Riverside.
Brown, who grew up on Gasner Street and frequented the library as a child, said the donation reflects his ongoing fondness for the community.
The Schultz-Holmes Library serves the townships of Blissfield, Ogden, Palmyra, and Riga, and offers a wide range of public programs and digital archives.
