ADRIAN — The City of Adrian Planning Commission held its first of two open houses reviewing their proposed new zoning ordinance on Tuesday at the Adrian City Chambers.

Adrian’s current zoning ordinance was adopted in 2006 and has since undergone minor revisions that officials say made it difficult to interpret.

The proposed new ordinance will consolidate the city’s four residential districts into one and the three industrial districts into two, and eliminate the commercial district permitting malls.
