Terry Starkey, age 76, of Tecumseh, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at the Hospice of Lenawee Hospice Home in Adrian with her family at her side. She was born on March 27, 1949 in Adrian, the daughter of Charles Francis and Anne Margaret (Prochaska) Komon.
Terry graduated from Britton High School in 1967 where she was involved in twirling. After graduation she went to work at Ford Motor Company, later working at Saline Hospital and finishing her career at the Tecumseh Products Company. Terry was a member of the Tecumseh VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed the friendships she made when she was on local bowling and softball leagues. She loved drag racing, going to the casino and dancing to polkas, embracing her Czech heritage. Terry loved taking pictures and was known as the family photographer.
Terry is survived by her children, Sheila Starkey of Britton and Joe (Valerie) Starkey of Missouri; sister, Mary Anne (Gary) Mueller of Deerfield; five grandchildren, Shelby Fuller, Hanna (Michael) Skelton, Nick and Noah Webb and Sarah Starkey; two great grandsons, Liam and Jaxxon Fuller and great grandchild Skelton on the way. She is also survived by her furry companion McGee. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Chuck and Tom Komon, nephew, Phillip Mueller and her pets, Sasha and Abby.
Memorial visitation for Terry will be on Saturday, July 5, 2025 from 11am – 2pm at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes. A memorial service will follow at 2pm with Helene Knierim officiating. Private interment will be in St. Alphonsus Cemetery in Deerfield. Memorial contributions may be made to the family for a future designation.
