
Larry Robert Hand, age 83, of Adrian, Michigan, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Larry was born on October 23, 1941, in Tecumseh, Michigan, to Kenneth and Beatrice (Sweet) Hand. He graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1961 and proudly served in the United States Army with the 3rd Armored Division at Coleman Kaserne in Gelnhausen, Germany. After returning home, Larry began his career with General Motors at Fisher Body in Tecumseh and later retired from GM’s Toledo Propulsion Systems (formerly Hydromatic) in 2000.
On October 29, 1966, Larry married the love of his life, Ruth Harris. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, family, and adventure.
Larry was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He had a passion for collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia and was well known for his delicious homemade jellies and jams.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Ruth; his daughter, Christal (Mick) Albig; his sons, David (Cathy) Hand and Cary (Renee) Hand; and his grandchildren, Zachary (Tasha) Hand, Meghan (Mike) Blystone, Caitlin Hand, Jacob (Tricia) Mossing, Brendan Hand, Nicholas Hand, Gabriel Hand, Sheldon Hand, and Zoe Hand. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Bennett Blystone, Elizabeth Blystone, and Levi Blystone.
Additional survivors include his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Sharon Hand, Lucinda Hand, Kathy Harris, Gary (Robin) Harris, Raymond (Judy) Harris, and Lue Munson, along with numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Beatrice Hand; and his siblings, Meritt Jackie Hand, Kenneth Hand Jr., Jerry Hand, Norman Hand, Carol Hand, and Robert “Ike” Hand.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 7, 2025, beginning at 11:00 am at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home in Adrian, Michigan, followed by Military Honors performed by American Legion Post #97, Adrian. Visitation will take place on Sunday, July 6, 2025, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm and 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial of cremains will be at a later date at Brookside Cemetery.
