ADRIAN — The Better Business Bureau is warning businesses to beware of fake complaint emails claiming to be from the BBB.

The warning comes after Nicole from Friendly Ford in Monroe reported spotting a phony email with a dangerous link.

The email claimed to be from the BBB Complaint Department but used a suspicious .com address instead of the BBB’s official .org domain.

BBB officials say the scam email includes false consumer names, wrong dates, and misspellings.

The organization reminds businesses always to double-check suspicious messages and follow the rule: Never trust — always verify.
