Weber Center Hosts Retreat on Christian Mystics

ADRIAN — The Weber Retreat and Conference Center in Adrian will host its annual in-person Retreat on the Mystics from July 27 to July 30, 2025, featuring teachings from Christian mystics St. Francis de Sales and Meister Eckhart.

Held on the campus of the Adrian Dominican Sisters’ Motherhouse, the Weber Center retreat invites participants to reflect on spiritual themes guided by two influential Christian thinkers. The program begins Sunday evening and concludes Wednesday morning.

Father Michael Newman, OSFS, will lead reflections on St. Francis de Sales, known for his pastoral guidance on finding the divine in everyday life. Father Newman is Assistant Provincial of the Toledo-Detroit Province of the Oblates and pastor of Holy Family Parish in Adrian.

Dr. Anastasia Wendlinder, PhD, Associate Professor of Religious Studies at Gonzaga University, will present on the writings of Meister Eckhart, a 13th-century Dominican mystic renowned for his profound theological insights and enduring relevance.

The retreat cost is $180 for commuters, $280 for double occupancy, and $380 for single occupancy. Meals are included for overnight guests, and lunch is provided for commuters.

The Weber Center is located off East Siena Heights Drive. Visitors should turn between the Adrian Rea Literacy Center and the solar panel-covered carport and follow signs to the facility.
