Marcia May Gunn, age 88, of Adrian, MI, went home and joined her Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, June 10, 2025.
William and Gertrude Hill welcomed Marcia and her twin brother, Marshall, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan on April 14, 1937. The Hill family grew by one more when Marcia’s younger brother, William, was born 3 years later on April 14, 1940. Marcia graduated from High School in 1956.
Little did Marcia know what an impression she was making when Franklin A. Gunn saw her one day in town and declared “I am going to marry that girl” to his buddies. A couple of years later Marcia and Franklin were united in marriage on June 23, 1956, at the Kinross Air Force Base Chapel in Sault Ste. Marie, MI.
Marcia and Franklin made an excellent team, whether it was raising their five children or sharing their faith with others. Her nurturing personality came through in everything she did and was a great fit as a teacher’s aide at Deerfield High School with the students. Marcia worked at Bixby Hospital in Central Supply and in the role of office manager for several of her children’s businesses. She kept everything running smoothly with her exceptional organizational skills. She was a dedicated Pastor’s wife and taught Sunday School for over 30 years. Marcia liked to read and host family gatherings. She enjoyed cooking for her family, always making sure there was enough food to feed everyone. Marcia treasured her title of grandmother and great-grandmother; and could be counted on to attend school activities and sporting events.
In addition to her husband, Pastor Franklin Gunn, Marcia leaves behind their children, Steven Gunn, Lori (Ralph) Morgan, David (Donna) Gunn, Michael (Fei) Gunn and Tim Gunn; 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; and her brother, William McDowell. She was preceded in death by her parents and twin brother, Marshall Hill.
Visitation for Marcia will take place on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at Wagley Funeral Home, Adrian from 12:30 – 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ron Sparks officiating. Private burial will follow at East Rome Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family for future designation. Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.WagleyFuneralHomes.com
