Alan Virle Smead, age 63, of Adrian, MI, passed away, June 9, 2025, at home surrounded by his family. He was born November 27, 1961, in Adrian, MI, the son of Virle & Betty (Holloway) Smead. Alan loved the outdoors and sitting at bonfires at the farm. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and going four wheeling. He is survived by his son, Jason Smead; four siblings, Linda (Mike) Fretwell, Connie Montalvo, Audie (Marilyn) Smead and Virle Smead Jr.; numerous nieces and nephews and his four beloved dogs. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virle & Betty Smead; grandparents, Cecil Smead & Myrtle Beach ; two brothers, Ronald Halliwill and William Smead; and two sisters, Linda Sue Smead and Bonnie Lou Halliwill. Funeral Services will be be held 1:00 PM Monday, June 16, 2025, at Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI. Burial will follow in Dover Cemetery.
