Whitmer Administration Launches Road Repairs in Saginaw and Crawford Counties

LANSING Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced new Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) road and bridge projects launching this week in Saginaw and Crawford counties as part of the continued statewide initiative to “fix the damn roads.”

The projects are expected to support approximately 15 jobs, both directly and indirectly, and are part of a broader push that will have repaired or replaced nearly 24,500 lane miles of road and 1,900 bridges by the end of this construction season.

  • M-52 Resurfacing – Saginaw County
    • Location: M-52 from M-57 North to the southern limit of St. Charles
    • Start Date: Monday, June 2, 2025
    • End Date: Friday, June 27, 2025
    • Investment: $1.3 million
    • Traffic Impact: Single-lane closures under flag control
    • Impact: Expected to support 12 jobs and improve long-term road durability
  • M-93/Old 27 Intersection Improvements – Crawford County
    • Location: Intersection of M-93, I-75 Business Loop (BL), Old 27, and Airport Road, near Grayling
    • Start Date: Monday, June 9, 2025
    • End Date: Wednesday, July 2, 2025
    • Investment: $318,000
