
ADRIAN — Monday kicks off Memorial Day Week in Lenawee County.
The AMVETS Post 1957’s parade is set for May 26, 2025. Participants should gather in front of the Adrian Armoy on West Maumee Street by 1 p.m. The procession will then trek over to Memorial Park. If you’re interested in participating, contact Dave Loop at (517) 260-1858.
Post 155 is also staging a parade in Deerfield on Monday, beginning at 10 a.m. The celebration begins at the corner of Carey and Keegan and travels over the American Legion building.
Also, in Deerfield, the American Legion Auxiliary will hold a bike-decorating contest as part of the parade. If you’d like to participate, stop by the Shiver Shack by 9:45 a.m.
After the parade, don’t forget to stop by the American Legion to find out which bikes won. There will be a ceremony as well, with the American Legion being open to the general public.
Over in Hudson, the Memorial Day parade begins at 9:30 a.m., going from Main Street to Maple Grove Cemetery.
The American Legion Post 180 will also be cooking up some BBQ chicken. The cost is ten bucks a plate for adults and five bucks per plate for children under 10. Veterans and their spouses eat for free with I.D.
They will be serving until noon.
And last but certainly not least, Morenci’s Memorial Day celebration begins at 10 a.m. at Wakefield Park and ends at Oak Grove Cemetery.
They’ll be having BBQ chicken as well, starting at 12:30 p.m. at the Morenci Legion Post.
