Bee Day Festival 2025: Adrian Celebrates Pollinators

ADRIAN — The Bee Day Festival returned to Adrian with a full day of hands-on displays, live demos, and local experts celebrating pollinators and the people who keep them buzzing.

Now in its fourth year, the festival brings families and gardens together with a simple message: bees matter. Organized by the River Raisin Beekeepers Club, the event also serves as a major fundraiser for the group’s youth mentorship — geared toward training future beekeepers aged 10 to 16.

Janet from the River Raisin Beekeepers Club said the festival’s goal is twofold: educate the public and build the next generation of hive keepers. “We actually take 10 to 16-year-olds that are interested in learning how to be beekeepers. We set them up with everything they need.”

A team of Master Gardeners from Michigan State University walked guests through gardening do’s and don’ts. Their focus: practical, science-backed advice on what to plant, what to avoid, and how to create safer spaces for bees and butterflies.
