ADRIAN — The Emergency 911 District Board is set to welcome a new public representative after a unanimous vote during its May 8 meeting.

Denise Combs, who attended the meeting in person, was recommended to fill the long-vacant general public seat on the board. The motion to appoint her was made and supported without objection.

Commissioner Terry Collins spoke in favor of Combs, stating, quote, “She appears to be an excellent candidate, and I’ve also received positive feedback from others outside the board,” unquote.

The final appointment will go before the Rules and Appointments Committee for confirmation.

Combs’ appointment brings a civilian voice to a board typically composed of law enforcement, dispatch officials, and county commissioners — helping to improve transparency and community engagement in public safety oversight.
