LANSING, Mich. — One of Michigan’s most impactful fundraisers for child abuse prevention returns this May.
On Tuesday, May 13, Michigan State University’s Breslin Center will host the 23rd annual Pam Posthumus Signature Auction, benefitting Children Trust Michigan — the only statewide nonprofit solely focused on preventing child abuse and neglect.
Suzanne Greenberg, executive director of Children Trust Michigan, says the event supports local programs across all 83 counties. Saying, quote, “Thanks to the powerful partnerships we have forged, we have seen incredible progress in our quest to end child abuse in Michigan,” end quote.
Since 2017, the number of confirmed victims of child abuse or neglect in the state has fallen from nearly 42,000 to around 24,000.
The Pam Posthumus Signature Auction has raised over $8 million to fund prevention work — including family support, safety education, and basic resources for families in need.
This year’s theme is For the Love of Children. Doors open at 5 p.m. on May 13. Online bidding for the silent auction begins May 6.
