Tecumseh, MI – Tecumseh is still celebrating a historic win by its varsity girls’ basketball team. Superintendent Matt Hilton says plans are in motion for a community celebration to honor the 2025 Division 2 state champions. The school’s first girls basketball title in over 50 years.
While exact details haven’t been finalized, Hilton says the event will likely include both the current team and members of the 1974 championship squad. Coordinating the event has been a challenge, as many of the athletes have already transitioned to spring sports like softball.
Hilton says a formal recognition at an upcoming school board meeting is also being planned
