
ADRIAN—Clarice Horton, age 94, of Adrian, died early Friday morning, February 21, 2025, at the Lenawee Medical Care Facility while under the care of Hospice of Lenawee. She was born March 6, 1930, in Adrian to Paul and Elsie (Lentz) Dettman. On May 25, 1957, she married Norman Horton in Angola, Indiana. He preceded her in death on July 19, 2015.
She had been employed by Fisher Body, LOF, and had been the owner and operator of Satellite Services for 7 years. Clarice was a charter member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, serving as head deacon for many years and also served as the representative for St. Matthew’s for Thrivent for Lutherans. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
Clarice is survived by her son, Brad Horton and his wife Betty Eng of Kailua, HI; two grandchildren, Bruce Mundhenk and Cynthia Holmes; a sister, Dorothy Jenkins of TX; and a cousin, Richard Day. In addition to her husband, Norman, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Steven Paul Mundhenk; a daughter, Charmine Horton in infancy; a sister, Marjorie Moore; and a cousin, Marcelyn Hepner.
At Clarice’s request, cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends for a memorial visitation at the Anderson-Marry Funeral Home in Adrian on Monday, February 24, 2025, from 1-3 p.m. Private inurnment will take place at St. John’s Cemetery.
