Mary Beth Woodward, age 71, of Blissfield, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Friday, February 14, 2025.

Mary was born on October 21, 1953, in Adrian, MI, the daughter of Clinton and Helen (Sallows) Woodward. She grew up in Blissfield and was a Royals all through school, graduating with the Class of 1971. She went on to attend Michigan State University and received her bachelor’s degree in journalism.

After college, Mary worked as a private investigator for a lawyer in Cleveland, OH, where she was able to put her attention to facts and details to good use. She later worked at Borchardt Brothers Market in Blissfield for over 20 years at the service desk. This was a great fit for Mary as she was socially outgoing and knew many of the customers by name. She was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Riga. Mary was an avid reader throughout her life and enjoyed sharing books with her mother and sister. When the afternoon rolled around you could find Mary tuned in to her favorite soap opera, The Young and the Restless; she was also a fan of nature programs and the Incredible Dr. Pol.

Mary is survived by her sister, Nancy (Larry) Dangler, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Thomas Woodward, David Woodward and Sandra Miller; and longtime partner, David Grow.

Following Mary’s wishes cremation will take place. There will be a Memorial Celebration of Life held for Mary on a future date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Wagley Funeral Home, Tagsold Chapel in Blissfield.
