Villages of Onsted & Clinton Join List of Lenawee County Communities Issuing Snow Emergencies

Onsted, MI – The Village of Onsted has issued a Snow Emergency that will be in effect as of noon Wednesday through 3pm on Thursday. The declared emergency means that any motor vehicle, trailer, or movable object must be removed from the public streets.

Vehicles parked on public streets during the time of the declared emergency are subject to being towed and ticketed by the police department. Owners of such vehicles will be responsible for all tickets, towing, and storage fees.

Clinton Snow Emergency…

The Village of Clinton has declared a snow emergency effective Wednesday, February 12th beginning at 1:00 PM. The snow emergency will remain in effect until Thursday, February 13th at 1:00 PM.

Their goal in declaring a snow emergency is to clean the streets safely and fully from curb to curb without going around vehicles, which allows Village staff to do their jobs efficiently and not bury vehicles in the snow.

Pursuant to Section 50-1. – Declaration of a snow or ice emergency. During this time, the parking of a motor vehicle on the street is prohibited throughout the Village of Clinton.

The parking or standing of a motor vehicle on a public street in the Village shall be prohibited during the time of the declared emergency. Any person who owns or is in control of a vehicle that is in violation shall be subject to fines and costs. Such motor vehicle may be removed from the Village streets by the Village of Clinton Police Department or its authorized designee, with the costs of such removal paid for by the owner or persons in control of the vehicle.
