
Blissfield, MI – A Snow Emergency is being declared in the Village of Blissfield by the Chief of Police Dale Greenleaf. This Snow Emergency will be effective 12pm Wednesday, February 12th until 3pm Thursday, February 13th.
The declared emergency means that any motor vehicle, trailer, or moveable object must be removed from public streets. Vehicles parked in these areas during the time of the declared emergency are subject to being towed and ticketed by the police department in accordance with Blissfield Village Ordinance, Part 52, Section 52.013, Subsection 2.5d(f). Owners of such vehicles will be responsible for all tickets, towing and storage fees.
Additionally, property owners are reminded that it is a violation of the Michigan Motor Vehicle Code as adopted by Blissfield Village Ordinance, Part 62, to blow and/or deposit snow/ice onto public streets, sidewalks, or municipal parking areas. Any person discovered to be engaged in such activities are subject to being ticketed. Chief Greenleaf said in a news release that residents’ cooperation ensures that their DPW workers can plow the streets in a safe and efficient manner.
