
Edward Schmidt, age 93, of rural Tecumseh, died Sunday morning, February 2, 2025, at his home while under the care of Hospice of Lenawee. He was born June 7, 1931, in Macon Township. Edward proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from February 1, 1952, until his Honorable Discharge on January 13, 1954.
He married Lois Jane Seaman-Meyer on May 30, 1954. She preceded him in death on March 7, 2020.
Edward was a lifelong resident of Tecumseh. He worked over 40 years for the former Tecumseh Products, alongside farming and working part-time at Keibler Meats in Clinton. Later he formed RET Construction Company. Christian by faith, he was a faithful member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Britton.
Surviving Edward are his daughters, Donna (James) Pearsall and Karen (Kevin) Malus both of Clinton; sons, William Schmidt and Edward Schmidt both of Tecumseh; grandsons, Joseph (Amanda) Malus, Robert (Cayla) Pearsall, and Alex (Brigette) Malus; granddaughter, Emily (Brandon) White; great-grandchildren, Gabby, Eva, Ronald, Henry, William, and James; sisters, Martha (Mickey) Partridge and Grace (Steven) Roup; and many nieces and nephews. Edward loved his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his Scotty dogs very much.
In addition to his wife, Edward was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters.
The family will receive friends for visitation at the Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Tecumseh, on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral service begins at 11:00 a.m. Rev. David McCarty will officiate. Burial will follow at Lenawee County Memorial Gardens in Tecumseh.
