Adrian, MI – Two speakers will be telling a story about a local silent hero who was killed in combat… Lieutenant Charles William Wilson of Tecumseh.

Megan LeaTrea, a senior at Whitehall High School, and Jan Mecoli Klco, a teacher…did research for several months about the service of Lieutenant Wilson.

The fighter pilot was shot down in the lead up to the Battle of Okinawa in the pacific theatre.

With help from the Lenawee Historical Society and the staff at the Adrian District Library, newspaper articles, and official records, the pair learned about Wilson, his family, and the significant contributions that his community made in support of the war effort.

Megan and Mrs. Klco will share the history of Lieutenant Charles William Wilson, the community at that time, and their experiences in Hawaii with a slide presentation, then answer questions.

Join the duo on Saturday, February 15th, in the Frazier Auditorium on the second floor of the Lenawee Historical Museum. The program will begin at 2 P.M. The program is free and open to the public.
