Tecumseh, MI – The City of Tecumseh Parks and Recreation Department recently completed a new bathroom building at Aden Mead Park on South Occidental Highway.
This improvement was budgeted for within the capital improvement budget. The capital improvement plan is a long-range planning tool that helps schedule future infrastructure needs and budget for the expense.
The masonry building replaces the former pre-fabricated unit that had stood onsite since 2001.
The new building is built of split-faced concrete block and of similar length but wider than the previous unit. It has a men’s restroom and women’s restroom, each with two-stalls. An exterior drinking fountain was also included in the design.
Like the other park bathrooms, it is now ‘winterized’ for the colder months. Kelly Jo Gilmore said Quote “Park-goers will have to wait until spring to get inside, but it is a much-needed improvement to the park,” Unquote.
