John “Wayne” Teague, age 69, of Pittsford, passed away Monday, January 20, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Wayne was born, on February 8, 1955, in Knoxville, Tennessee to John and Vincy (Hudiston) Teague. On May 25, 1979, Wayne married Rene Homminga in Jackson, Michigan and she survives. John loved hunting, fishing with his sons, and being outdoors. He loved to take the family camping and would travel all over to camp where he would fish and hunt. He loved spending time with his children, but especially his grand and great-grandchildren. John owned his own welding shop and it was said that there wasn’t anything he could fix or a project that he couldn’t help with.
In addition to his wife, Rene, Wayne is survived by his children; Bill Homminga, Johnnie Teague, and Chasity Rose; ten grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, and seven brothers and sisters.
Visitation for Wayne will be held Monday, January 27, 2025, at the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Hudson, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm, when a funeral service will take place at 1:00 pm with Pastor Larry Smock officiating. A burial will follow at Prattville Cemetery.
