WASHINGTON — Congressman Tim Walberg voted Friday for a federal spending bill aimed at helping veterans, military families, and military bases across the country.
The U.S. House passed the Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriations Act by a vote of 400 to 15 in Washington, D.C.
The bill would fund veterans health care, mental health programs, military housing, childcare services, and construction projects at military bases and VA facilities.
Supporters say the bill would help improve care for veterans and upgrade military buildings and infrastructure. The legislation also includes more than $2 billion for improvements to VA medical centers and national cemeteries.
The bill now moves to the Senate for consideration.
