ADRIAN — Lenawee County officials are moving quickly to repair a failed cooling system at the Judicial Building ahead of warmer temperatures expected next week.

During Tuesday’s Personnel and Ways and Means Committee meeting, commissioners approved sending a request to the full board for up to 16,373 dollar to repair the building chiller, including a 1,500 dollars contingency.

Officials said the issue was discovered May 4, when circuit number two on the system failed.

Commissioners also voted to waive the county’s normal two-review policy because of the urgency. Officials noted past air conditioning failures at the Judicial Building have created procedural issues for court operations during hot weather.
