ADRIAN — A shelter-in-place at Adrian College has been lifted after police determined there was no active threat on campus.
Officers responded to a report of a possible person with a gun, but say no weapon was ever seen or confirmed.
Investigators say the situation began as a verbal argument involving a person off campus, who was seen reaching into a backpack but never displayed or referenced a weapon.
Police reviewed surveillance footage with campus security and found no evidence of a weapon. The individual left the area shortly after the incident, and a person of interest has been identified but not yet contacted.
Authorities say all units have now cleared the scene, and there is no ongoing danger to students or staff.
