Harry M. Stanifer, age 99, of Tecumseh, Michigan, passed away on March 27, 2026.

He was born November 30, 1926, in Monroe, MI, the son of Samuel and Eva (Davidson) Stanifer.

On September 11, 1948, he married Helen E. Duckworth. She preceded him in death on May 31, 2012.

Harry was a graduate of Sand Creek High School. He then then entered the USMC in November 1944. He went to serve 3 years in the 6th Marine Division as a PFC in the Pacific Theater. Harry started his employment at Clauda Plumbing & Heating, Tecumseh, MI in 1947. He then started working in 1950 for Tresco, which was acquired by Tecumseh Products Company in 1953 where he went on to work for 33 years in the Engineering Division, retiring in 1987. The Jack Pine Drive-In, Tecumseh, MI from 1953 -1955. He was life member of Tecumseh Masonic Lodge #69 F.& A.M. He also was a member of TecumsehUnited Methodist Church, where served on various committees, as well as church school superintendent.

He is survived by his daughter, Lana (Richard) Grimston of Milan, MI; son, Chris (Linda) Stanifer of Dillsburg, PA; 8 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, Helen, he was preceded in death by his parents, brother, William; sisters, Nina Gerdeman, Irene Robinson, Nell Slovak, and Gladys Phemister.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Purse & Son Funeral Home, Tecumseh, Michigan where a Masonic Memorial Service will be performed by Tecumseh Masonic Lodge #69. Military honors will also take place, conducted by the United States Marine Corps Funeral Honors Team.

Visitation will also take place on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Purse & Son Funeral Home, Tecumseh, Michigan from 1:00 p.m. until time of memorial service.

Final resting place will be at Brookside Cemetery, Tecumseh, Michigan.
