LENAWEE CO. — Applications are now open for a scholarship aimed at supporting future leaders in local government.

The Michigan Townships Association is accepting applications for the Robert R. Robinson Memorial Scholarship through May 31. The one-time award offers up to 15 hundred dollars to students pursuing degrees or coursework related to local government service.

Eligible applicants include undergraduate and graduate students enrolled at Michigan colleges or universities, as well as high school students or individuals seeking training or certification for township roles.

Applicants will be evaluated based on academic performance, community involvement, and their commitment to public service. Requirements include a recommendation letter, a supporting resolution from a township board, and a short essay on a key issue facing local government.
