Paul Jay Stanton, age 67, passed away at home early Sunday, March 22, 2026.
Paul was born on April 6, 1958, in Detroit, Michigan, the second child of Ben J. and Alice Jean (Bumford) Stanton’s five children. He graduated high school from Plymouth-Canton Educational Park in 1975 and went on to earn his Bachelor of Art degree from Spring Arbor College. Paul later earned his MBA at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia.
On August 15, 1987, Paul married Loraine Stevens in Adrian, MI, and they shared over 38 incredible years together.
For most of his professional career, Paul worked as a credit manager in a variety of business settings. He was an avid stamp collector his whole life. His commitment to stamps led him to start the Michigan Stamp Dealers Supply Company in 1986, which later became The Mouse & Such, which he ran with his wife, Loraine. Paul spent many years involved with numerous stamp clubs in the Metro Detroit area where he held various leadership roles. He was most proud of his Tonga Tin Can Mail exhibit. Paul’s faith was evident in his daily life, and he gave of his time and talents for many years. He was a Champion Bible Quizzer through Youth for Christ, enjoyed coaching Bible Quiz Teams, and worked with Loraine for many years in the Caravan Program.
In addition to his wife, Loraine, he is survived by his brothers, Timothy (Jamie) Stanton of Wayne, MI, Daniel (Heather) Stanton of Orillia, Ontario, and Mark (Julie) Stanton of Plymouth, MI; sisters-in-law, Vi Stanton of Saginaw, MI, and Rachelle Stevens of Adrian, MI; nieces and nephews, Blake Stanton, Drew (Lauren) Stanton, Anna (Cornel) Christen, Matthew (Erin) Stanton, Sydney Stanton and Isabelle Stanton; and great nieces and nephews, Landon, Emery, Sophia Stanton; and Holly, Lilly and Anthony Christen. Paul was preceded in death by his parents and older brother, David Stanton of Saginaw, MI.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2026, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Wagley Funeral Home, Adrian. Funeral Service will take place on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastors Garry Edwards and Larry Betz officiating. Burial will follow at Rollin Friends Cemetery.
