Gladys Lucille Kuhl (“Lucy”) born November 11, 1938, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 22, 2026, in Adrian, MI with her closest family, her cherished pets, and the compassionate support of hospice. Lucy was a woman of strength and resilience, and deep devotion to those she loved. Born to Etha Pearl Parker &; Donald Adams, she was the eldest of eight children and carried that caregiver role with a steady spirit throughout her life. In 1957 she married her love, John Floyd Kuhl, and together they built a life centered on the family farm and their children. They shared 42 years of marriage before his passing in 2003. Lucy’s legacy continues through the children she raised: Don Kuhl, Mark (Kim) Kuhl, David (Rita) Kuhl, and Karen Kuhl, as well as her granddaughter, Jessie (Jordan) Nelson, and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored deeply. Lucy dedicated 34 years of her career to Faraday Inc., where she enjoyed working and made countless friends into family. In retirement, she found joy in life’s simple pleasures – tending to her many garden beds, caring for animals, and spending time with her grandchildren. All who met Lucy knew she had a special place in her heart for animals, and she was known for rescuing strays whenever she could. Her compassion also extended into the many volunteer hours she spent at Hospice of Lenawee where she offered comfort and care to others in their time of need. Lucy will be remembered for her strength, her stubborn determination, her generous heart, and her love for her family most of all. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, her siblings James, Gary, Donna, Anthony, Robert, and Richard, and her great-granddaughter, Bennett. She is survived by her sister, Diane Smith; her children; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends. Per her wishes Lucy will be cremated, and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Her love and spirit will continue in all those who knew her.
