MONROE — The United Way of Monroe and Lenawee Counties is marking a major milestone this spring.

The organization will celebrate 100 years of service with a special anniversary gala set for Saturday, May 9th at the Monroe Golf and Country Club.

The event begins at 5 p.m. and will feature a Roaring Twenties theme, including a speakeasy-style happy hour, dinner, and a program recognizing key contributors and partners from the past century.

United Way was originally founded in April of 1926 as the Community Chest and has since grown to support dozens of local programs across both Monroe and Lenawee Counties.

Today, the organization funds 32 local agency programs, supports additional partner agencies, and helps coordinate services like 2-1-1, Project Ramp, and community health events.

Tickets for the gala are priced at $125 per person or $1,200 for a table of ten, with sponsorship opportunities also available.

More information, including ticket purchases, can be found at the United Way of Monroe and Lenawee Counties website.
