JACKSON — A new program aimed at attracting young professionals to Jackson County is launching with major homeownership incentives.
The Build In Jackson program will offer qualified participants between forty-thousand and sixty-thousand dollars in down payment assistance toward newly constructed homes through the City of Jackson’s 100 Homes program.
Officials say the initiative is a partnership between the City of Jackson, the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce, Accelerate Jackson County, the Jackson Community Foundation, Experience Jackson and Michigan Works! Southeast.
Selected participants will be able to purchase newly built two- or three-bedroom homes with full basements in Jackson’s walkable downtown neighborhoods. The program also includes networking opportunities, recreational experiences across the county and connections with local civic and business leaders.
Officials say the program will begin with an initial group of participants as part of Jackson County’s broader housing and workforce development strategy.
