ADRIAN — The Lenawee County Board of Commissioners has approved an agreement with the Community Action Agency to help administer a housing improvement grant program.
Commissioners voted during their March 11 meeting to accept a Third-Party Administrator contract connected to the county’s MI Neighborhood Community Development Block Grant program.
Under the agreement, the Community Action Agency will oversee day-to-day administration of the Lenawee Home Improvement Partnership program, which provides funding to assist eligible homeowners with rehabilitation and repair projects.
Officials say the contractor will handle tasks such as applicant outreach, eligibility verification, inspections, grant reporting, and compliance documentation to ensure the program follows federal, state, and Michigan State Housing Development Authority requirements.
County officials say the agreement allows Lenawee County to maintain compliance with grant regulations while continuing to provide assistance for housing improvements across the community.
