ADRIAN — Adults in Adrian will have an opportunity next month to build their technology skills during a series of free classes at the Adrian District Library.
Library officials say the in-person workshops will focus on two areas: learning how to use the Zoom video meeting platform and understanding basic online cybersecurity.
The first session, titled Intro to Zoom, will take place April 15th from 1 to 2:45 p.m. Participants will learn how to create a Zoom account and practice using common meeting features.
A second workshop called Staying Safe Online – Cybersecurity Basics will be offered April 22nd. That class will cover topics such as recognizing scams, creating secure passwords, and safely navigating websites and email. Two sessions will be available that day, one from 1 to 2:45 p.m. and another from 6 to 7:45 p.m.
All classes will take place at the Adrian District Library on East Maumee Street in downtown Adrian. Attendees may bring their own laptops if they prefer, but it is not required.
The workshops are free, though space is limited and registration is required. Residents can sign up online at adrian.lib.mi.us or call the library at 517-265-2265.
