ADRIAN — The Adrian Symphony Orchestra is inviting the community to an upcoming concert featuring one of the most recognizable works in classical music.

The program will highlight Edward Elgar’s Enigma Variations, a composition first written in 1899 that features fourteen musical variations inspired by people in Elgar’s life. One of the best-known sections of the piece, titled Nimrod, is widely regarded for its slow, powerful melody and emotional depth.

The concert will also feature cellist Sterling Elliott performing Elgar’s Cello Concerto, along with Nicolai’s Merry Wives of Windsor Overture.

The performance will take place at Dawson Auditorium on Friday March 13. Reserved seating tickets range from fifteen to forty-one dollars depending on seating and eligibility for student or senior pricing.

Tickets can be purchased online through the Adrian Symphony website, by phone, or at the box office beginning one hour before the performance.
