ADRIAN — Due to the heavy rains and saturated soils, the City of Adrian Utilities Department has experienced sanitary sewer overflows at several locations.
The areas impacted are along the south branch of the River Raisin, particularly near Island Park. The overflows began this (Wednesday) morning at approximately 10:00 a.m. and are ongoing.
The Adrian City Utilities Department anticipates these overflows will end later today (Wednesday) as the rain and extraneous flows subside. The Lenawee County Health Department has been notified and water quality samples are being taken.
Please avoid contact with the River Raisin at this time.
