Sherri Kempf, 67, passed away on Thursday, March 5th, 2026. She was a beloved sister and a cherished member of her family and the group home where she lived for many years. Sherri’s unique way of seeing the world and the joy she brought to those around her will always be remembered. Many funny and heartwarming stories have been shared by her family and the staff at her group home.
She was a loving daughter of George and Lillie Jean Kempf (deceased) and sister to Vicki Frost, Beverly Schook (deceased), and Lauri Keller.
She is survived by her sisters, Vicki Frost and Lauri Keller. After their parents passed, Vicki stepped in as a mother figure, dedicating her time to spending time with Sherri at the group home.
Sherri loved music, often listening to her favorite songs on headphones. She enjoyed watching I Love Lucy and loved cartoon characters such as Scooby-Doo, Minnie Mouse, and Mickey Mouse. Her presence reminded those around her of patience, compassion, and unconditional love.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 14th, 2026, at Purse & Son Funeral Home, Tecumseh, MI with Rev. Cathi King officiating.
Interment will follow at Brookside Cemetery, Tecumseh, Michigan.
Visitation will also take place Saturday, March 14th, 2026 at Purse & Son Funeral Home, Tecumseh, Michigan from 11:00 a.m. until time of service.
The family is grateful for the care and kindness shown to Sherri throughout her life. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
