LANSING — Current Michigan Chief Justice Megan Cavanagh and Justice Noah Hood have announced campaigns to keep their seats on the Michigan Supreme Court.
Cavanagh, first elected in 2018 and unanimously chosen by her colleagues to serve as Chief Justice in 2025, says she is running to continue strengthening Michigan’s court system and improving fairness for families and children interacting with the justice system.
Hood, who was appointed to the court by Governor Gretchen Whitmer in May of 2025, says he is seeking a full term after previously serving on the Michigan Court of Appeals and as a Wayne County Circuit Court judge handling felony cases and overseeing Veterans Treatment Court.
Both candidates say their campaigns will focus on maintaining a fair and accessible justice system for people across Michigan.
