Gabriel “Gabe” Dull, age 93, peacefully passed away Sunday, March 8, at Cambrian Assisted Living. Gabe was born July 30, 1932 to Irene and Gabor Dull in Detroit, Michigan, where he grew up. Gabe married Delphine D. Lesczcynski in 1954 and had three children, Allen, Susan, and Marlene.

He trained to be a machinist, and moved his young family to California where he worked manufacturing airplane parts. They moved back to Michigan in 1968 and lived in Clinton up until 2023. Working at Protomatic in Dexter, Gabe machined parts that were used in seismographs that were sent to the moon and recorded thousands of moonquakes for many years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Delphine, his son Allen, and his brother Steve.

He is survived by his daughters Susan (Skip) Pluhar of Markelville, IN, Marlene (Steve) Leach of Saline, daughter-in-law Pat Dull of Petoskey, grandkids Ryan Clark (Aubrey) of Tecumseh, Tricia (Casey) of Dundee, great granddaughter Sydney Clark and Jordyn Clark of Flat Rock, step grandkids Cadence and Micah of Tecumseh, and several nieces and nephews.

Gabe loved his home machine shop and working with metal. He worked outside in his yard, and for many years planted a large garlic garden. He made homemade wine from concentrated juices. After he retired, he enjoyed spending time in Florida, learning how to play the banjo, listening to music, going to the senior center, and sitting on his outside swing in the shade visiting with friends and neighbors.

The family would like to thank so many kind friends, neighbors, volunteers, and workers who helped Gabe in so many big and small ways during his elder years when he could not see well or drive. Thank you to Clinton Senior Center, hospice, Meals on Wheels, and the team at the Cambrian Assisted Living.

Gabe specified not to have a formal funeral. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your church or the Clinton Senior Center, 300 Tecumseh Road, Clinton, MI 49236. Make checks to Clinton UCC and memo Clinton Senior Center.
