
Bonnie Lee Thomas, age 80, of Tecumseh, MI, passed away peacefully at Cambrian Memory Care in Tecumseh, MI. She was born on June 27, 1945, in Meadville, PA, the daughter of the late John Charles and Betty Arlene (Ferguson) Mattern. She retired in 2009 after serving the Tecumseh and Adrian communities as a school bus driver for 30 years, with most of her time spent in the Tecumseh area.
Bonnie loved antiquing, art shows and going up north and in the 1970’s and 1980’s she was noted for creating dollhouse miniatures. She also taught for a period of time at Pat’s Crafts in Tecumseh, MI.
Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Kelly (Ben) Breitner of Tecumseh, MI; her granddaughter, Bailey Breitner; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Margie West.
According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. A gathering honoring Bonnie will take place from 2pm-5pm on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lenawee Humane Society. The family would like to extend a special Thank You to Cambrian Memory Care as well as Optimal Care Hospice for their wonderful care.
