ADRIAN — Spring yard waste collection will take place Wednesday, April 15, and Wednesday, April 22. Residents must place yard waste at the curb by 7 a.m. on both collection days.
The city says yard waste must be placed in biodegradable or compostable paper bags and may not exceed 50 pounds. Plastic bags or other unapproved containers will not be collected.
Branches and brush must be tied in bundles no longer than 3 feet, weigh less than 50 pounds, and be placed parallel to the curb.
Residents who prepare yard waste before the scheduled pickup dates may contact the Department of Public Services to arrange delivery to the compost site.
The compost site off Oakwood Avenue will open Saturday, May 2. Hours will be noon to 7 p.m. Tuesdays and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays.
Any yard waste brought in non-compostable containers must be removed before disposal.
