
ADRIAN — The City of Adrian has appointed Anthony Armstrong as the new chief of the Adrian Fire Department.
According to City Administrator Chad Baugh, four internal candidates and one external candidate were interviewed during the city’s search for a full-time fire chief.
Baugh recommended Armstrong, who has served as Interim Fire Chief since December, for the position.
Cited factors in Baugh’s recommendation were Armstrong’s, quote, “leadership during the interim period, continuity of service, and ability to maintain operational stability and effective labor management relationships.” unquote.
During their regular meeting on Monday, the Adrian City Commission appointed Armstrong as chief in a unanimous vote.
