ADRIAN — Adrian Police say a suspect has been arrested in connection with a 2022 overdose death in the city.
According to the Adrian Police Department, 60-year-old Douglas Henry Bice was taken into custody in Kentucky after investigators said he fled the state. Authorities say Bice waived extradition and was returned to Michigan.
Bice was arraigned Thursday in the 2A District Court. He faces one count of delivery of a controlled substance causing death, along with two additional drug possession charges involving methamphetamine or ecstasy and cocaine, heroin, or another narcotic under 25 grams.
Police say the charges stem from the July 2022 overdose death of an Adrian woman.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact Adrian Police Detective LaMar Rufner or submit a tip through the department’s email reporting system.
Authorities remind the public that Bice is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
